- What is screen printing?
Screen printing is a process through which ink is manually, or mechanically, applied with use of a screen and squeegee. You must start with artwork. Each color in your design requires an individual screen. So, if you have a design with three colors you would need three individual screens for you design.
Artwork plays a large role due to the cost and time. After establishing your artwork, each individual screen is prepared. The screen is a frame with nylon mesh stretched over the frame. The mesh is then coated with emulsion that will become the stencil through which the ink will pass when printed with the squeegee. After the garment is printed, it is dried in a dryer where the inks are cured. You then have a finished product.
- What is embroidery?
Embroidery is the the technique of decorating apparel or other materials with a needle and thread. Using a multiple head embroidery machine, a design begins with the conversion from a computer format into a digitized format that the embroidery machine can read.
Once the file is digitized, it will be programmed into a embroidery program. The embroidery machine then sends in instructions to the different heads of the machine to sew your design into the final product. Embroidery has become more cost effective and is a great way to have your design concept expressed in a professional manner.
- What size can I print?
T-shirts can be printed for both youth and adult sizes with a max design size of 12.5″ x 12.5″.
